The Oakley Bakery needs a Head Baker to lead its team and prepare for its grand Opening in June 2023 and we are offering a generous signing bonus as an incentive to help us launch our grand opening!
We need a baker who is qualified and committed to maintaining quality standards and productivity levels of all fresh-baked products in our bakery. This person will follow recipes to bake rolls, cookies, sweet rolls, muffins, etc. This person will also assist customers when necessary and provide exceptional customer service.
Primary Duties
- Follow recipes and bake various types of bread, pastries, cakes, and desserts including monitoring the temperature and time in the oven to ensure that the baked goods are cooked properly.
- Assure that work areas, utensils, and equipment are clean and that the work environment is safe.
- Maintain inventory levels of ingredients, supplies, and finished products.
- Ensure that all bakery goods meet quality standards and are consistent in taste, texture, and appearance.
- Consistent and daily interaction with bakery team members and customers
Qualifications and Expectations
The desired candidate for the position of Head Baker should possess a high school diploma or GED, along with a minimum of one year of baking experience. Alternatively, we welcome applicants with a combination of education, experience, and training that equips them with the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities outlined below:
- Current Food Handler’s Permit
- Enjoys working with and handling bakery products
- Enjoys cooking and eating a variety of bakery products
- Ability to read and follow a recipe and use basic math skills used to half or double recipes
- Knowledge of baking procedures and times
- Ability to interpret and follow policies and procedures
- Organization and planning skills
- Excellent communication skills, including verbal and listening skills
- Ability to accept feedback and be accountable for your own success as well as the success of your team
- Make logical, significant decisions using general, recognized skills and technique

The Oakley Bakery is looking to hire a Bakery Cashier and we are offering a signing bonus for anyone who can start before our Grand Opening in June!
We need a Bakery Cashier who will represent the Oakley Bakery standard to provide exceptional customer service.
Our Bakery Cashier will be responsible for handling payment and customer service for our valued customers. They work closely with the bakery staff to ensure that all transactions are accurate, timely, and completed with excellent customer service.
Primary Duties
- Greet customers warmly and provide friendly customer service throughout their visit
- Follow established company and store policies and procedures
- Process transactions quickly and accurately, including cash, credit card, and other payment methods
- Maintain accurate cash drawers and ensure that all transactions are properly recorded
- Answer customer questions about bakery products, prices, and availability
- Manage the bakery’s inventory of baked goods and ensure that it is well-stocked and organized
- Keep the bakery’s checkout area clean and organized
- Provide feedback to bakery staff about customer preferences and sales trends
- Assist with other bakery duties as needed, such as packaging baked goods or helping customers select items
